Posting Guidelines (updated 2005.07.26)

Cussing is not allowed. This includes borderline words such as "crap," "bitch" and "ass" when used as expletives. There will be rare exceptions, such as when people are talking about Jackass the movie or the song Bitch.
Using @$$, f*** and other punctuation to partially censor cuss words is not allowed.
Topics of a sexual nature, topics dealing with drugs and other topics which are inappropriate for all ages are not allowed.
Personal attacks on other members is not allowed.
Personal attacks on people who are associated with Robotech (voice actors, crew, etc) is a no-no.
Insulting people who are not associated with Robotech, such as people you saw on TV or some idiot you heard about on the news is okay, as long as it's kept within the limits of good humor.
Deliberate attempts to be disruptive and/or push the limits of the rules are not going to be tolerated.
Political debate topics are not allowed. This includes topics which are highly likely to turn into political debates. Political topics are allowed as long as they stay away from debate (political news, light-hearted political humor, etc)
Religious debate topics are not allowed. Religious topics are allowed as long as they stay away from debate (asking for prayer, did you forget to set your clock and miss Church, etc).
Posting commercial info is not allowed. This includes info about other stores, prices or products, or auction info (except if it's a store exclusive that's featured in the Robotech News).
Attempting to be clever and saying "Email me and I'll tell you where to buy it/download it since I'm not allowed to tell you on this forum" is not allowed
Threads asking for info about where to download bootlegs or buy Robotech related stuff are not allowed.
Posting the same topic across several forums is not allowed.
Please don't have more than three topics on the front page of any forum at any time.
Threads and posts with incredibly long words are not allowed.
Multiple user accounts are not allowed.
The Terms of Use still apply, and these Posting Guidelines are not meant to replace the TOU in any way.

We were all newbies once. Veteran users of Robotech.com are encouraged to welcome new members in the forum and chat rooms with the same dignity that we would extend to ourselves. Please resolve any unintentional missteps by communicating with one another politely.
Members may not harass, badger or abuse another person online or disrupt the flow of discussion by repetition of the same or similar messages or images. If you are under the age of 13, you must have parental permission to use the community areas (please read the Privacy Policy for details). You may not under any circumstances impersonate any other site member, including but not limited to, a Harmony Gold or Robotech.com employee or representative.

Q: How do I change my member icon or alter my membership information?
A: Try clicking on your login name at the top left or using the membership customization options located at the bottom of your fan page. If you're having a problem that can't be resolved using the membership options, please send an e-mail to admin@robotech.com
Q: How does Robotech.com membership work? What do I gain?
A: Membership allows you to participate in many of the community features of Robotech.com, including the online forums, chat rooms and polls. Read about the Membership Point System for details. Membership is absolutely free and you can join by clicking here! (all you need is a valid e-mail address)
Q: I just got my new Robotech.com membership! Where do I start posting?
A: To accustom yourself with the Robotech.com Community, we recommend that you first browse through the forums and use the new Search Function to see if any previous discussions may have already answered your question. If a recent discussion of a specific topic already exists, it is preferable to continue posting messages in that thread before starting a new topic. Please exercise courtesy by making sure you start discussions in forums related to your topic of interest. Random chitchat belongs in The Lounge and is still governed by the Terms of Use and Guidelines on Member Conduct outlined below.
Q: Which web browser works best with Robotech.com?
A: Due to the graphical nature of Robotech.com, we recommend using version 5 or later web browsers. Older browsers may have problems handling advanced features. Users of the Java-based chat-rooms should also get the latest version of Java from http://java.sun.com/getjava
Q: What's next for the Robotech.com forums?
A: We've recently implemented forum upgrades with more flexible site navigation, a new search feature, clickable emoticons, expanded HTML support and easier access to recent posts while improving server performance. Check back for more features on the way in the future!
