I wanted to like it, i really did, but Harmony Gold let me down again. Like everything after the Macross Saga. I hope that they fire the animators who did this film, the CG was terrible and the vehicles just moved way too corny (if you get what i mean). Robotech should really go back to the roots and look at what it was based on, (Macross) and do better animation. Story was not great, but if you had the same animation as Macross Frontier, I would like Robotech way better. Until then, Robotech will not be taken seriously.  | |

Ya' know, I really enjoyed it. I'm actually linking friends to the Hulu section of Shadow Chronicles any chance I find, it honestly blew me away. I take much pride in having the two-disc DVD next to my Protoculture Collection, standing tall and proud.
Some clunkiness in the budgeted CG aside, it just had so much to appreciate, number 1 of which being a clever combination of the concurrent counter-story to the final New Generation episode(s) and literally taking up right where the series leaves off. Then the characters, first of which, I truly loved seeing Rick Hunter once more after all the years following Sentinels (even if just a couple cameos), his return marked the sorta-resolving to a long awaited hype in New Generation. Then my favorite continuing character story, that of Scott and Ariel, drawing the thin line just perfectly between continuation of New Generation and spinoff of all three sagas & Sentinels. Even if Scott, Ariel (& the original Marlene), Regess, and 'minor' players like Sparks and Reinhardt were only retained from that saga, it helps make Chronicles a very nifty extra finale to New Generation from my perspective.
Okay, done rambling; I guess it's obvious, I love Shadow Chronicles. | |

Hulu states the video is only available to US residents, but they're working on getting everything available for all geographic locales. Me love tape that is red. | |

A big heartfelt thank you goes out to Harmony Gold for securing a legitimate, legal way to watch this for free!!
Just because it’s free, Doesn’t mean all the true & loyal fans will suddenly stop buying Robotech merchandise.
As long as the exposure is of a positive nature, Any exposure is good for Robotech!

The fact that its on YouTube now means those of us outside the US can now actually watch them online (legally). Not that I don't already own the DVDs, but it means I can get more friends hooked on it now.

I assume that its planned to put the New Generation saga on youtube in the future, right? At least I hope so  Bought the Robotech DVDs when they first came out, so never got to watch the remastered version. | |

Howdy folks!
Im happy that Robotech is on YouTube & Hulu.
I like to see New Generation as well.
I was curious that Macross Saga,the Masters, & Shadow Chronicles are up & im scratching my head that New Generation isn't up.
That's my 2 cents.

MORE ACCESS TO ROBOTECH IS DEFINITELY A PLUS, ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER SEEN IT OR HAVEN'T SEEN IT SINCE IT ORIGINALLY AIRED ON TV. HOWEVER, FOR THOSE OF US WHO ALREADY OWN THE SERIES AND SHADOW CHRONICLES (OFTEN IN MULTIPLE INCARNATIONS) THIS DOESN'T REALLY DO MUCH TO EXCITE ME. | |
