Fanstastic cover.

It will be a day long remembered.

New background information of Earth's feudal society and its defenders, The Army of the Southern Cross.
I'm dying to know what kind of details have been changed, if any. for some reason I find this part of RT timeline so interesting.

Will this sourcebook also include information on the ASC spaceships as well?

1 do they actually go into detail about where the Southern Cross actually gets it's gear from?

2 Are there any decent maps showing the location of settlements?

3 And is there any indication as to how well the ASC functions, given the problems shown to us in the tv series?

4 Is there any conversion data from the Macross Saga to ASC in characters?

5 What sort of tech does the ASC have available in gear? (medtech, comm, etc)

6 Is there anything that addresses how likely a trooper would get replacements for busted machines or spent missiles? How about telling us how fast this would occur if you ran out?

A WW2 101st Airborne received a letter from the IRS. He’d be thrown in jail if he didn’t pay. He stuffed an envelope with all the $ he had. "If the IRS promises to throw me in jail, then by God come and get me!" he wrote. Never heard from them again.

I would like to know if either Studio Ammonite or Tatsunoko was contacted regarding several of the designs. Unless Carl Macek has sketches hidden somewhere, there is still a serious lack of lineart concerning Southern Cross. There are also questions only they could answer, especially regarding such issues as the Sylphide Veritech.

Off the top of my head, I know there was no lineart to be found for any of the Southern Cross warships other than the Tokugawa's, the GMP Garm Battloid's gunpod (Half Moon), the Arctic Unit's backpack, Transport Squadron 85 multipurpose transport (Mind Games) nor Moon Base ALuCE. There was more but that is what immediately springs to mind.

I hope it has the Hoplite Hovertanks.

I was pretty down on Southern Cross in the 90s, but have gained a lot respect since digging into it deeper. They were out gunned and way over their head and still came through.

The last RPG book was so full of errors, I hope to see some major improvements.

The irony if the saga that had the fewest products finally had a release with the most new material...

BTW Arkaine, can you be more specific regarding errors you may have found? It would be beneficial for future reprintings by Palladium.

Why was the Tokugawa-class listed as an UEEF ship when:

1.) Thats a false separation between the UEF (all the Service Branches of the UEG Military) and the UEEF (a Combatant Command). The former is analagous to the US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, US Marine Corps and US Coast Guard, while the latter is analagous to Central Command, NorthComm et al.

2.) Even if we accept the completely illogical and absurd model that the UEF and UEEF are totally separate organizations, there is plain and irrefutable evidence of a Tokugawa on Earth in Catastrophe as well as a 2nd one in space (which could ONLY be a returning UEEF ship as Emerson had ordered all remaining UEF ships to retreat to Earth in The Invid Connection).

OK, OK I am buying the game when it comes out.

Please Please Please Please have better art this time around. Part of what convenced me that Southern Cross had the Yugos of the Mecha world was the original RPG book. Finally seeing the show showed me that they weren't that bad.

I remember how Paladium would have the body armor rated to take several tank rounds with out much difficulty.

Will it have more information on the Masters maybe Tirol?
I was always curious about this:

• New background information of Earth's feudal society and its defenders, The Army of the Southern Cross.

Can't wait... I already had my local brick & mortar order it for me as soon as possible.

I wonder how much of this is going to be ripped from the Robotech Reference Guide, Southern Cross Universe, Southern Cross Recruitment Manual, and the other sources that tried to fill the gap in Palladium's initial attempt.

There is more line art out there than referenced. You just have to look hard. TIA#10 helps, but there are a few otehr very obscure source.

So far, that indeed seems to be the case. Sometimes, there's even LESS info offered, probably thanks to the new manga size. However, PLEASE feel free to ask the rest of the forum, the best way to do this is to start your own thread on the gaming forum.

nuts.... I had such high hopes.

I would have to say in regards to the Macross book Palladium released, the old book and the new book are VERY different beasts. I expect the same for the Masters book to follow in that trend, especially with all the new source material they had to work with.

Subject: A lot of new source material
Posted on: March 23, 2009 - 11:18:41 PM

The Masters book is just phenomenal especially when compared to the original Masters RPG book. As far as source material goes, there was a wealth of original animation source material and designs that were never used in the first run of the Masters. A lot of that material is now being used for this new book. There is a write up on the rise of the Robotech Master Empire as well as a write up on the rise of the Army of the Southern Cross and how it came to be the military guard of Earth. The new art is great, none of that crazy stippled/crosshatched shaded stuff.

To compare the new book to the old book, the new book is like the school project that obviously had some thought put into it and started months before the due date. The old book is like a school project that was procrastinated until 12a.m. before its due.
